Our client recently relocated from UK to Sydney and had spent a few months looking on their own, finding price guides confusing and missing out on a few properties they approached Munro (on recommendation from their banker) to help them navigate and get a better understanding of the Paddington, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst housing market , to complicate matters they needed to get FIRB approval and we need to jump through a few hurdles We created a short list of suitable homes , one of which we were about to make an offer on , however after an independent building and pest inspection was done it was clearly apparent that this home was a no go zone due to extensive unforeseen defects which would have cost circa $100k to repair , our client was most disappointed and distressed by these findings , however Munro and Lisa immediately had a back up off market property in Darlinghurst that they absolutely loved and within 24 hours of inspecting and undertaking due diligence we secured this property All this within a few short weeks we were able to find our clients their dream home Solution: Helped client avoid a potentially very expensive mistake by purchasing a home in bad state of disrepair and within 24 hours secured a great stately home which was part of our back up plan
