    Redhead is just 21 minutes’ drive from the centre of the city and well served by local shops, cafes.  Redhead is THE hidden gem of Newcastle and contains stunning coastline and walks and surf break.

Redhead is a beach suburb all on its own with only a few shops and cafes around but close (12 minutes) to a large shopping centre and 16 minutes from the major hospital.

    King Edward Park is a large park overlooking the city and Pacific Ocean. Take a walk from Honeysuckle along the foreshore all the way along the break wall past the Nobby’s Lighthouse. Newcastle also has its own state reserve named “Blackbutt Reserve” after the trees that grow there.

    Schools & Education?

    Newcastle boasts some of the most well serviced schools in the state with also many private and Catholic options. The Junction Primary is locally renowned for its terrific culture and Newcastle Grammar has quiet prestigious reputation. Newcastle also boasts two selective state schools with The Hunter School of Performing Arts having produced some high-quality professional talent and Merewether High being Newcastle’s equivalent of James Ruse. Redhead has its own small public school.
